How does Sun Damage Happen? Sun damage is caused by frequent exposure to damaging ultraviolet (UV) rays. UV is an undetectable form of radiation emitted by the sun. There are two types of UV rays, UVA and UVB. UVA rays penetrate deep into the skin and are the major source of early aging and skin cancer. UVB rays primarily access the surface of the skin and are the key source of sunburns.

Sunlight is deceptive. It feels warm and gentle, and gives us a "healthy" tan. But silently over the years, it hurts the skin. It causes wrinkles, blotchy discoloration, roughness, susceptibility to bruising, abnormal blood vessels and to cap it all off, can lead to skin cancer.

Anyone that has sustained sun burn is likely to show signs of sun damage on their skin.

microdermabrasion is used to refresh skin dulled and thickened by sun damage. It can remove brown spots, shave away thickened skin and smooth out the wrinkles that become more pronounced from sun damage.

After sun damage microdermabrasion treatment, it is recommended to take a vitamin D supplement as exposure to the sun is not recommended and a high factor sun block is necessary at all times.
