What is Light Therapy?

Light therapy is the application of light energy to the skin for therapeutic benefits. It is a natural photobiochemical reaction similar to the process of plant photosynthesis. We utilize light of the blue and red spectrum: Bue light is a highly effective means of killing acne causing bacteria while red light adds an antiinflamatory effect to the treatment process. Therefore Light Thereapy  can  treat already inflamed acne. This costs 30 euros extra and takes just 15 minutes on top of your 30 minute microdermabrasion treatment.

Does Microdermabrasion Work?

YES. There is no doubt that Microdermabrasion works. It is so effective that it became the most requested treatment at clinics in US when it first became available. The client will see results after the first session but should be prepared to take 4 sessions for optimal benefits. The reason for this is that Microdermabrasion is a progressive gradual proceedure. It is for this reason that is it preferred by many. It does not use harsh chemicals like many peels. It does not require needles or surgery. Many doctors describe the process as similar to "ironing out a paper which has been crumpled up". You will still see some fine folds but they will be softened dramatically. Microdermabrasion has been used for over 25 years with excellent results. It is so effective that in the 1990s it was the most requested treatment in US clinics. In the beginning Microdermabrasion used oxide crystals which were fired against the skin then vacuumed off. Whilst this method offers wonderful results, crystals may enter the clients eyes, hair and skin causing itchiness afterwards.

Approximately ten years ago a newer form of microdermabrasion came around, using a diamond tip head, no need for the oxide crystals. The diamond tip abrades or removes the stratum conium, the top layer of skin, and the dead skin and debris is vacuumed and filtered into the system and discarded revealing an incredibly smooth and rejuvenated skin surface. The results from Diamond microdermabrasion are exceptional. This system offers low to no risk of cross contamination and is this most modern and up to date method around. There is no itchiness from crystals and debris as everything is vacuumed away instantly. A high Sun Protection Factor should be worn after treatment.
